Description
Rava Sheera is a classic Indian dessert prepared during festivals and religious offerings. When made with Desidhara A2 Bilona Ghee, the dish develops a rich aroma, smooth texture, and authentic traditional taste.
Ingredients
- 1 cup semolina (rava)
- ½ cup Desidhara A2 Bilona Ghee
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2½ cups water
- 8–10 cashews
- 1 tbsp raisins
- ½ tsp cardamom powder
- Few saffron strands (optional)
Instructions
1. Heat the Ghee
Place a heavy-bottom pan on medium flame and add Desidhara A2 Ghee. Allow it to melt slowly so the natural aroma of the ghee begins to release.
2. Roast the Semolina
Add the semolina (rava) to the melted ghee and roast continuously on low flame. Stir constantly to prevent burning and roast until it turns light golden and releases a nutty fragrance.
3. Add Dry Fruits
Add cashews and raisins into the roasted semolina mixture. Cook them in the ghee for about a minute until the cashews turn slightly golden and raisins puff up.
4. Add Hot Water Carefully
Slowly pour hot water into the mixture while stirring continuously. This prevents lumps from forming and helps the semolina absorb the liquid evenly.
5. Mix Sugar and Flavoring
Add sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron strands. Stir well so the sweetness spreads evenly through the mixture.
6. Cook Until Thick
Continue cooking on low flame until the sheera thickens and the ghee begins to separate slightly from the mixture. This indicates that the dessert is perfectly cooked.
Serving Suggestion
Serve warm during breakfast, festive occasions, or as prasad during religious rituals.
